Meet Chelsea
Well hey! I’m so glad you stopped by. If you’re wondering who I am or how I got my start, you’ve come to the right place! I’m here to tell you that I’m just a simple Christian gal from a small town in Pennsylvania who grew up with a camera in her hands, couldn’t keep the mud off her clothes, and always had a furry animal to cuddle. Nowadays, I’m married to the best guy, and together we are pursuing a freedom-filled life one dream at a time.
In order to share how I got to where I am today as a full-time Private Photo Editor, we first have to start at the very beginning when it was just me and my camera.
I created Chelsea Mowery Photography in 2013 after years of being so unhappy working in the banking and medical industries. I spent the next three years hustling to create a successful full-time portrait photography business in Charlotte, NC. Well, new dreams were created, and suddenly Jon and I found ourselves with the desire to travel around the country full-time in an RV. The question was, how do we make a living on the road?
Along came Private Photo Editing. I was encouraged by a photography friend of mine to pursue editing for other photographers. I had no idea this was actually a thing! But I took her advice, and started reaching out to my other local photography friends. That was late 2015. In the spring of 2016, I decided to hit the ground running. By the summer of 2016 (just three months later), I had established a business as a Private Photo Editor successful enough to sustain our nomadic lifestyle on the road. Whaaat?? It became abundantly clear that God was answering our prayers, which then gave us the confidence we needed that this was exactly the direction we were supposed to go next.

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Matthew 21:22

Our Mission
My goal is to combine years of Lightroom education and expertise, from having built my own successful portrait photography business, to provide full-time Wedding Photographers with a trusted professional to outsource their precious images to.
Having once had a professional photography business, myself, I know the importance of maintaining the quality of your imagery in order to uphold the standards of your client experience.
As a Private Photo Editor, I also understand (since having worked with nearly 30 different wedding photographers over the years) that some of the biggest time lost in any wedding photography business is the time spent editing. You lose time with your spouse and your children. You lose time for focusing on growing your business. You lose time for continuing education in your industry in order to hone your craft as a professional.
If you’ve come to a point in your wedding photography business that feels a lot like what I just mentioned, then it may be a good sign that you’re ready to consider outsourcing your editing to a Private Photo Editor. And when you’re ready…
I’m here for you. I value the relationships I create with each of my clients. I am so grateful to be trusted by so many incredibly talented professional Wedding Photographers from across the US. Thank you all so very much for being a part of my purpose in life. <3
